Happy Friday! Here are a few news bits:
- National Geographic renews Limitless with Chris Hemsworth for a second season. The show follows Hemsworth as he tries to figure out the secrets to living a longer and healthier life. It was an interesting first season and I do wonder what types of information that he will focus on for the new season.
Anthony Mackie will take over from Hemsworth with the Shark Beach documentary newly titled Shark Beach with Anthony Mackie. According to reports, Shark Beach with Anthony Mackie will be set in New Orleans, where Mackie grew up and will follow as he investigates a fishing phenomenon called depredation. It's when a shark preys upon a fisher’s catch and consumes it before it can be retrieved. After an increase in shark sightings in New Orleans, Mackie will try to learn more about these concerning cases from local fishing communities in Louisiana. However, he discovers these human/shark encounters may be pointing to larger environmental issues across the greater Gulf of Mexico.
- Good news for Wynonna Earp fans. The once cancelled TV series is returning for a 90-minute special titled Wynonna Earp: Vengeance that will air on Tubi. So far there has been no premiere date announced but it supposed to air sometime this year.
According to reports, the show creator Emily Andras wrote the special and Paolo Barzman will be the director. And the returning cast members are: Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Dom Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell. I'm sure other cast members will probably be announced sometime later. I'm really looking forward to seeing this.
