Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Here are some Entertainment News:
- The Goosebumps TV series has been renewed for a second season by Disney Plus. The series, which is based on the book series of the same name by R.L. Stine, follows a group of high school students who try to figure out what happened to Harold Bibble, a teenager who died years ago. I've never watched this show but I'm going to start watching the first season very soon.
- Although the third season of Abbott Elementary just started airing, the show has been renewed by ABC for a fourth season. That's good news because this is a really great show. And I'm still waiting on Janine Teagues and Gregory Eddie to go canon, I hope it will be in this third season.
- The upcoming new Star Wars TV series Star Wars: The Acolyte will premiere sometime this Summer on Disney Plus. The series which is set at the end of the High Republic era, follows a former Jedi Padawan and her one-time Master as they investigate sinister crimes in an ever-changing galaxy while challenging the fallibility of the Jedi Order. And starring in the show are: Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-Jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman and Carrie Ann-Moss.
I haven't read any of the Star Wars: High Repubic books but they have been on the list. I would like to have at least one of the books before the show airs this Summer. But I'm sure this show will be written in a way that anyone who hasn't read the books will still be able to follow along. Well at least I hope.
- Some good news for The Bear fans, the third season will air in June on Hulu. I know it will probably never happen but I think it would be interesting if Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto and Sydney Adamu were in romantic relationship. They have amazing chemistry and I think they would be good for each other. But it looks like the show so far only want them to be friends.
- It's slightly old news but I forgot to post it, FOX has a new rescue show Rescue: Hi–Surf about lifeguards. The first season will have 12 episodes and will air sometime in the fall. According to reports, the description for the new show, which is set in Hawaii, will follow "the personal and professional lives of the heavy-water lifeguards who patrol and protect the North Shore of O’ahu—the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world. Each episode will feature these dedicated, heroic, and adrenaline-seeking first-responders saving lives in the difficult and often life-threatening conditions of Hawaii’s Seven Mile Miracle.”
Rescue: Hi–Surf will star Arielle Kebbel, Robbie Magasiva, Adam Demos, Kekoa Kekumano, Alex Aiono, and Zoe Cipres. With Sea Shimooka who will have a recurring role. This show makes me think of Baywatch which is still a rather popular show despite it not being on air for years. It will be interesting to see how Rescue: Hi-Surf does, I'll definitely tune in to see how the show will be.
