Most Memorable Scene: Maddie Buckley and Howard Han singing karaoke

The beginning of Howard "Chimney" Han and Maddie Buckley's romance was so sweet especially since they didn't realize they had already been dating. In an older post, Maia Roberts and Jace Herondale: A Potential Romance Wasted, I wrote that "Romance is a tricky thing to write and it's made even more difficult when a couple doesn't have any chemistry onscreen. It doesn't make the viewer want to invest in a boring relationship."

Chemistry is really funny because it's impossible to duplicate or force. Either the characters (and the actors) have it or they don’t. And Maddie and Chimney certainly have it (as well as Buck and Eddie but that's a different post). From the moment Chimney and Maddie met in the episode Dosed (season 2 episode 6) their chemistry was undeniable.

Which is why I love this scene of them singing karaoke in the episode Buck, Actually (season 2 episode 8). It's a Most Memorable Scene because despite being a simple yet fun scene of the two singing, the scene truly showed how in sync they were even before they started dating. So when it was brought to their attention later in the episode that they were dating without realizing it, it caught them by surprise. Maddie and Chimney would eventually start dating (although not in this episode) but those early moments prior to that already had these wonderful little sprinkles of romance. Because they truly were dating without realizing it. And now in the upcoming seventh season they will be getting married and I can't wait to see it.
