Fashion Meets Fandom: Eddie Diaz (9-1-1)

On 9-1-1, I noticed that Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz wore a lot of military shirt jackets or Army inspired jackets in mostly olive or dark green and the occasional beige/khaki. It's a go-to fashion staple for him which he usually wears over a Henley or T-shirt. For this Fashion Meets Fandom, I was inspired by this neutral but not boring jacket he wore in the sixth season episode Home Invasion.

Joining the Army was a defining moment for Eddie. And during that time, when he enlisted and re-enlisted for the second time, he used the job as a way to run away from his relationship issues with his wife Shannon. While also using it as an excuse to provide financially for his wife and son Christopher. And after being discharged from the Army, I guess the structure was ingrained in him at that point. So he probably wore these military inspired pieces a lot of times as an added sense of comfort.

During this scene in Home Invasion, Eddie along with his co-workers were at a farewell or going away party for Henrietta "Hen" Wilson. She was quitting her job as a Firefighter/Paramedic to fully take on the busy schedule of medical school. It was bittersweet because they were celebrating her success while also having to say goodbye to her. So, wearing this jacket probably made him feel a bit more grounded and secure during that moment.

To get the look, I found a jacket that had a similar look and feel to Eddie's jacket. I already mentioned that Eddie usually wore his jacket over Henleys or T-shirts but I figured you could style any way you want. Maybe pair it with a cute top and skirt or with relaxed jeans and a t-shirt or over a cute dress.
