Book Girl: Fashion Meets Fandom: Trudy Joplin (Miami Vice)

Miami Vice is most definitely a procedural show filled with plenty of action, crime, drama and investigations. However, it's the iconic 80s fashion that made it stand out. It's still considered to be one of the most stylish shows. Whenever the fashion of the show is usually talked about, the focus is on Detectives James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs. However, Detectives Trudy Joplin and Regina "Gina" Navarro Calabrese's fashion shouldn't be overlooked. Which is why for this Fashion Meets Fandom I was inspired by the surprisingly modern outfit Trudy wore in the episode The Cows of October (season 4 episode 12).

While investigating the case of the priceless stolen bull semen (yes, you read that right), Trudy wore this really cute outfit. It's an all black outfit of a crop halter top paired with low rise pants. Looking at her outfit, all I can think of is how modern it is. It's an outfit that's currently in fashion. This is what I find so interesting about fashion, how cyclical it is with styles and trends constantly repeating.

To get Trudy's look, I found two different crop halter tops. The first is a sport's top while the second is a fashion top with a open back. As for the pants I went with a pair of leggings and three pairs of jeggings. I figured any combination of tops and pants would work. As for accessories, I believe Trudy only wore earrings which look like a chandelier hoop style. But I figure you can accessorize and style this look however you want.
