Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #43: Robert Nash (9-1-1)

Happy Friday! Here's a fandom thought that has been on my mind:

I was thinking about the end of the 9-1-1 seventh season finale All Fall Down. My thoughts were about Fire Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash who showed up to work wearing his uniform. However, he quickly realized that the 118 fire station had a new captain, the horrible Captain Vincent Gerrard. My question is did Bobby after surviving a near death experience, forget that he had quit his job in the ninth episode Ashes, Ashes?

I can understand that prior to quitting he was having some mental health issues. He quit after he and his team received medals and awards for their heroic rescue of the cruise ship disaster that Bobby and his wife Police Sergeant Athena Grant were vacationing on. Not to mention Bobby and Athena's house was set on fire. Which resulted in him having to save and revive her after he found Athena passed out due to smoke inhalation. And after doing all that, he then either went into cardiac arrest or had a heart attack and had to be taken to the hospital for emergency care.

Which is why I was wondering after all of that did Bobby forget that he had quit? And when Bobby showed up and was greeted by his team: Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, Howard "Chimney" Han, Evan "Buck" Buckley, Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Ravi Panikkar, they were all in for a shock when Captain Gerrard appeared. And not to mention Gerrard took advantage of everyone being surprised and when they questioned why he was there, he made a point in letting them all know that Bobby had quit.

I know 9-1-1 is a drama but I'm not looking forward to seeing that racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. Captain Gerrard on screen. Hopefully, it won't take Bobby long to get his job back. Because he quit while he was under a great deal of stress. I'm hoping Gerrard will only be there for the first three to four episodes before he's gone.

(9-1-1 season 7 episode 10: All Fall Down)
