Fashion Meets Fandom: Kim's Red Print Dress (9-1-1)

Kim (no last name given) was a former actress turned retail work or owner, I'm not really sure. I would have to go back and rewatch her two episodes to make sure. In the 9-1-1 episode Ashes, Ashes (season 7 episode 9), Kim had a date with Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz. And while they were enjoying a relaxing moment on the lake (or pond I'm not sure), she was talking about her time as an actress on a not so successful show and surprisingly provided a bit of insight and analysis on Eddie.

During that scene, she wore this really cute dress. It's a spaghetti strap V-neck red and beige print dress. It looks like it could have been either a midi or maxi dress. What I found interesting about this look is that prior to this moment, Kim wore mostly cold tones of white and various shades of blue and white. And neutral colors of black and brown in more sophisticated and slightly trendy clothes. I mention all of this because Kim is a lookalike or doppelganger of Eddie's late wife, Shannon. And Shannon who had a bohemian sort of style mostly wore warm colors of red, yellow, orange and the occasional pink.

Which is why I was surprised to see Kim in this red and beige print dress. It wasn't like any of the colors or styles that she had worn before. This was a very Shannon type outfit but with Kim's sophisticated feel to it. I figure with Kim dressed in sort of a Shannon color of red, this scene was supposed to make the viewers think of Shannon. In a deleted scene that was recently released, it showed Eddie talking to his son Christopher about how he first met Shannon. As well as how he said they spent I believe hours in a boat on the lake connecting and getting to know each other. So, with Kim, Eddie was trying to recreate that moment he had with Shannon on the lake.

Anyway, back to the dress, I really like it. And to get the look, I found seven dresses that have the look and feel of Kim's dress. With the dresses, some of them having a casual vibe for a Shannon look while the others have a sophisticated vibe for a Kim look. For accessories, Kim wore small hoop earrings, delicate necklaces and several delicate rings. I figured you could accessorize this look anyway you want.
