Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #46: 9-1-1: Lone Star and Taylor Kelly

It's been a while since I've posted a Fandom Friday but I have a couple of thoughts I wanted to share:

- Monday night's 9-1-1: Lone Star episode Impact was so disappointing because why have so many bad thing happen to the characters. From Tommy Vega dying (there's a slim possibility she's still alive) to Carlos Reyes and T.K. Strand being denied custody of T.K.'s little brother to Mateo Chavez being deported and finally to an asteroid falling to Earth, it was just too much doom and gloom. The only really good part of the episode was Paul Strickland being a mentor to Jax. This is not an episode I can see myself re-watching. I can only hope the series finale episode which airs next Monday won't be so dreary. I really hope there is a way for the writers to end the show at least on a somewhat happy note because these characters deserved better than the storylines they got in Impact.

- I re-watched the 9-1-1 episode Dosed (season 2 episode 6) and still can't get over how unethical Taylor Kelly is as a reporter. She was willing to film Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash knowing that he had been drugged. And she also wanted to air all of that footage for her story. What's so awful is that she didn't even consider how this story would effect Bobby, all she was trying to do was make a name for herself. This is one character who never truly changed, because she was always more interested in a story and it didn't matter what she had to do or who she had to step on to get it.

(9-1-1 season 2 episode 6: Dosed)
