Hiatus Watch: The Worst Witch TV Series

Yesterday, I was looking for something new or at least new to me to watch when I found The Worst Witch (2017) TV series. This is the third adaption from The Worst Witch book series written by Jill Murphy and stayed on for four seasons. Surprisingly, I've never read the books which are very beloved by fans but I'm interested in reading them. So far I've watched the first four episodes of the first season and I really enjoyed watching them.

The show is delightfully whimsical and magical yet suspenseful as it follow unbeknown witch Mildred Hubble who discovered the world of magic after Maude Spellbody (who lost her glasses while she was flying on her broom) accidentally crashed onto the balcony of Mildred's apartment. Mildred ended up helping her new friend Maude get to Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches and also ended up getting enrolled there as well.

And since she knows very little of being a witch, Mildred truly is the worst witch but she's learning. She also got another new friend Enid Nightshade. Despite of all the new experiences, Mildred's school experience also entails dealing with Ethel Hallow, a bossy and slightly mean overachiever who will stop at nothing to be the best. I can't wait to watch more episodes and see if Mildred improves as a witch or continues to be the worst.
