Book of Interest: Star Wars: The Last Order

I had no idea that Finn and Jannah had a Star Wars book, Star Wars: The last Order by Kwame Mbalia. According to the description, it takes place after the final Disney Star Wars sequel trilogy movie The Rise of Skywalker which was an okay movie that could have been better. Anyway, at the end of the movie, Finn and Jannah left with Lando Calrissian in search of their past. And with the way Finn was sidelined throughout most of the sequel trilogy, it's nice to see him get some attention with this book. As well as Jannah who was introduced in The Rise of Skywalker.

I think it will be interesting to see what parts of their past will be uncovered and focused on. I'm sure their past as former stormtroopers will be explored especially with how the First Order abducted and brainwashed children and turned them into soldiers. I wonder if Lando will make an appearance in this story. Anyway, The last Order seems like it'll be an interesting read.

Should Jannah Get a Star Wars Novel?

A new character from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that I really liked is Jannah, a former Stormtrooper turned Rebel who was played by actress Naomi Ackie. Although, she had a supporting role, she stood out to me as a really cool and interesting character that I wish had been introduced earlier in the sequel trilogy so we could know more about her.

She has a connection and a bond with Finn as a former Stormtrooper. But there's a strong possibility that similar to Finn, she's also Force Sensitive. I wish Jannah's story would continue on in books because according to Ackie, director J.J. Abrams gave her Jannah's backstory which she stated was compelling.

Since we already know that she's a former Stormtrooper it would be interesting to learn more about her situation during that time. A prequel novel would be a great way to expand her story by describing how she and the other troopers escaped the First Order and established themselves in the unfamiliar world of Kef Bir. Although, she was no longer a part of the First Order, it would be interesting to know how long it took for her to finally feel free from the oppressive forces that continued to cause great turmoil throughout the galaxy.

I really would love if her story continued in a post The Rise of Skywalker novel especially since she's going with Lando Calrissian on an adventure to find out where she came from. During the First Order's reign, Stormtroopers were former kidnapped children who were brainwashed and trained to fight for this evil regime. I highly doubt the First Order kept records of where they stole children from, so Jannah may never find her family. But even if there's only a slim chance that she could find her family, I think reading about her journey and adventure with Lando would make for an interesting story. Because who knows where they may go or who they may meet along the way.

I wish that whoever is in charge of the publishing side of Star Wars, would approve books for Jannah (and Finn as well) because her story can't end with The Rise of Skywalker I want to know where she will go from there.
