Loki and What We Do in the Shadows: Why Do Shows Continue to Queerbait?

I can now add Loki and What We Do in the Shadows to the ever growing queerbaiting list. Both shows intentionally played up the relationships between the two same sex characters (Loki and Mobius and Nandor the Relentless and Guillermo de la Cruz) then turn it around and make it seem as if fans and viewers were misinterpreting the shows.

And in the case of What We Do in the Shadows, they claim there is a power imbalance and it's problematic since Nandor is Guillermo's boss. There is no imbalance because Guillermo is a vampire slayer and can totally take care of himself.
