Book Review: Torchwood: The Twilight Streets

Book: Torchwood: The Twilight Streets (Torchwood book #6) by Gary Russell

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

This was a really good and fast paced story that had Torchwood trying to uncover the mystery surrounding a rundown part of town and it's connection to both Captain Jack Harkness and the mysterious Manger Bilis.

There is something strange going on in a certain part of town that has been keeping Jack from being able to walk through the area. Jack has been trying to figure out what is going on for years and the only thing he has discovered is that whatever is keeping him out makes him extremely sick. But with Manger Bilis cropping back up again, Jack along with the rest of Torchwood is going to have to figure out what he's up to as well as what he has to do with that neighborhood.

I really did like this story, it was fun and felt like an episode of Torchwood. I like the character development in this story and that the reader got to know a little more about Ianto Jones. Ianto is the sort of person that keeps a lot of things to himself and it was interesting to read more about who he is. I thought the author did a good job of keeping the characters in character. Which can be tricky with books based on TV shows.

There was a lot to this story but it was interesting and it had the past, present and future colliding to create something that could change everything about Torchwood and the world.

This is the first book that I've read from the Torchwood series and I really enjoyed this. I found that the books series are a perfect way to continue on with the series.
