Trailer: Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials

As much as I really like Donna Noble, I feel like she's had plenty of screen time. And since they keep bringing her back, Donna is starting to feel like the new Rose Tyler (a.k.a. creator's pet). I guess it can be said for David Tennent's Doctor as well (whose version of the Doctor I absolutely adore).

I just think it would have been interesting to have a newly created character for the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials. That's not to say that the trailer doesn't look really good. I guess, I wish for a new companion instead of the show constantly bringing back previous ones. Despite all of that, I am interested in seeing these specials. The upcoming three specials will star airing sometime in November.

Quote: The Doctor (Doctor Who)

Jack: You're not going down there. It's too dangerous.

The Doctor: I eat danger for breakfast!... I don't. I prefer cereal. Or croissants. Or those little fried Portuguese... never mind. It's not important.

New Season of "Doctor Who" Premiering Today

It's Doctor Who Day! I can't wait to see what the 13th Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) will be up against in this new season.

The first episode "The Woman Who Fell to Earth" will air multiple times throughout the day on BBC America starting at 1:45 PM EST. I don't have any snacks or anything for the premiere but I'm find something to snack on while watching it.

Who else is going to be watching the 11 season premiere of Doctor Who?

Book of Interest: Doctor Who: The Official Cookbook

I love fandom inspired cookbooks and here is another interesting one that I found. As a Doctor Who fan, I think it would be cool to make some of the recipes that are in the book.

Do these types of cookbooks interest you? If so, which ones have you bought or thought of buying?

Her Universe New Doctor Who Collection

This is why Her Universe is one of my go-to geek stores because they are always coming out with fun and unique items. I can't wait for their new Doctor Who collection. From a cozy cardigan to a retro halter dress, this collection puts a geeky spin on classic fashion pieces.

I love this, it's such a chic way to do the whole geek thing. I wonder when the collection will be available at Her Universe. But until then, there are a few additional Doctor Who Her Universe pieces (cropped cardigan, plaid skirt and trench coat) that are available at Hot Topics.

Fashion Meets Comics: Doctor Who Tardis Floral Skirt

Okay, the only the only thing I can think of when I see this skirt is cute, cute and cute. I could see pairing it with so many different tops, jackets and sweaters. It's so cute and the little blue Tardis placed through out turns a typical floral skirt into something very unique.

Pride Month: Day #7: Ianto Jones (Torchwood)

Watching the Torchwood marathon last Friday/Saturday made me remember just how much I still love watching that show. It also reminded me that over half the cast were killed off include Ianto Jones. His character was fun, he had a mysterious reserved side but also a good sense of humor.

Nesting: Eight Blankets and Throws for a Cozy Fall Season

As much as I hate to admit it the warm sunny days are coming to an end. As I'm typing this, there is a slight chill in the air as the day begins to warm. With fall approaching, we will have to grab a throw to keep warm while reading a good book or watching TV.

Below are just a few blankets and throws that I found to make the upcoming fall super cozy. They range from girly to geek.

365 Days of Books of Interest: Day #253 (for Sunday): The Story of Martha

I can't believe I have not read this book. I always wondered what stories Martha told of the Doctor for people around the world to believe in and be inspired by him. Martha's skills as a story teller must be very good because if there had been any doubt about her stories the Doctor would have never been restored to take on the Master.

Book: The Story of Martha (Doctor Who book #28) by Dan Abnett

Description:

For a year, while the Master ruled over Earth, Martha Jones travelled the world telling people stories about the Doctor - how he has saved them before, and how he will save them again. This is that story. It tells of Martha's travels - from her arrival on Earth as the Toclafane attacked and decimated the population through to her return to Britain to face the Master. But it's more than that. This is also a collection of the stories she tells - the stories of adventures she had with the Doctor that we haven't heard about before. The stories that inspired and saved the world!

Fashion Meets Comics: Martha Jones' Red Jacket

I had started out with the intentions of writing a Why I Admire Martha Jones or a post of that nature but I will save that for another time. Dr. Martha Jones is an awesome and amazing character, she's smart, self-reliant and curious. She may have started out as a companion to the Doctor during the third season of Doctor Who but she went on to do some amazing things including working with Captain Jack Harkness and his crew during the second season of Torchwood. For this Fashion Meets Comics post I wanted to focus on a rather signature fashion piece, her red jacket.
