Book Review: Thrive

Book: Thrive: The Third Metric To Redefining Success and Create a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom and Wonder by Arianna Huffington

Review:

What a disappointing read! And what made this such a terrible read was that the information that I read feels like I already read it before. I was hoping this book would offer something new and refreshing instead there was a lot of rehashed information and statistics and quotes from other "high profile" people and tons of information from other sources.

For someone of Arianna Huffington's stature in journalism, I was expecting an engaging read and perhaps be inspired by her attempts to slow down and connect more with life.

The writing for this was dry and boring and was way too focused on many of those in the corporate world. Most of the information was common sense type of stuff that just about anyone can either find online or in similar books.

I found this book to be mainly a waste of time. However, I did enjoy the parts when she was talking about her life while growing up in Greece, about her mother and sister, those were the only sections that seem to have a bit of energy in them.

Sadly, this book is very boring and all the message gets drowned out by all the repetition and information overload. There is nothing in the book that really stands out.
