Review:

There were three very different stories in this issue:

Story #1: Bullets and Bracelets by Sean E. Williams with illustration by Marguerite Sauvage and lettering by Deron Bennett

This story has a fun and interesting take on Wonder Woman, in this she's a rock star. However she still holds true to everything that Wonder Woman is (as well as having all her powers). At the end of her band's performance, she has to deal with being harassed by two fans. On the tour bus heading to the next town, Diana decides to get off the bus to take a walk around town when she meets two teen girls who are big fans.

Diana joins the girls as they go get something to eat however Diana soon finds out that one of the girls can't afford to buy anything to eat. Ever the diplomat, Diana was going to do something about it, there was no way she was going to let one of her new friends sit there and not have a meal.

As Diana and the two girls left the diner, she was approached by one of the fans who had harassed her after the show. He was getting a little too grabby and didn't seem to take a hint that she wanted nothing to do with him. Not getting his way he took a drastic and dangerous approach to get his point across. But he picked the wrong person to deal with and ended up learning a very valuable lesson, which is, don't mess with Wonder Woman.

I love that even though Wonder Woman is a popular singer, she is still Wonder Woman through and through. I absolutely love the artwork by Marguerite Sauvage.

Story #2: Morning Coffee by Ollie Masters with illustration by Amy Mebberson with lettering by Deron Bennett

In this funny little story, Catwoman was in London stealing from The British Museum. Meanwhile, a tired Wonder Woman was called in to assist the police. It was no problem for her to capture Catwoman but was it too easy. It appears Selina had an ulterior motive for her easy arrest, she needed the Amazon Princess to be a distraction from a huge threat. Too bad it didn't quite work out the way Selina planned.

Selina might be the world's greatest thief but trying to out maneuver Wonder Woman is a skill she may need to work on.

Love this story.

Story #3: Hold Her! written and illustrated by Gilbert Hernandez with color by John Rauch and lettering by Deron Bennett

Hold Her! reminds me of those old sci-fi comic books. It had a humorous spoof like feel to it as it follows Wonder Woman trying to stop the robots who had captured her. But the real problem was who was controlling them, Sayyar, Emperor of the Llarrr. He was working with the villain Kanjar Ro who needed a powerful Earth human to carry out his plan. With her defenses down, thanks to a compliment, Sayyar zapped Wonder Woman with a mind controlling ray.

However, unbeknownst to Sayyar, Supergirl was flying around and spotted his space ship taking off. She followed the ship to a distant planet where she observed with her x-ray vision that Wonder Woman had been captured and placed under mind control. It's possible that she was planning a rescue but the story ended with a cliffhanger. Hopefully the rest of the story continues in the next issue.

Even though the last story ended with a cliffhanger all three stories were interesting. This was a delight to read. I like that the writers took chances with these stories and gave the readers something different. I also like that Catwoman appeared in this series for the second time, just because she's a Batman character doesn't mean she's only supposed to show up in the Batman family books.
