So, Superboy is now the son of Superman and Lois Lane, well according to Superboy issue #19 that is. Why does this scream gimmick? Lois Lane has been so underused by DC Comics lately that now they feel the need to toss her into another one of their sales generating gimmicks.
The Super books as a whole have been a convoluted mess with Superman leading the race. I would say Action Comics has been the best but with constant changes to the creative team I wonder how long it will stay some what consistent.
The only really good Super book has been Smallville Season 11 and it's not really part of the new 52 (thank goodness). It's the only book where you will find that Lois and Clark are still pretty amazing.
I wonder if this change to Superboy's DNA will make a difference with the relationship between Superman and Lois Lane (seeing as though they don't really have one in the new 52)?
I wonder why they decided to change Superboy origin story. I thought it was interesting with Lex Luthor trying to create a Superman he could control, deciding to cook up a clone of the Man of Steel with just pinch of his own DNA (only Luthor would be arrogant enough to do that).
Oh well, I wonder what the next gimmick DC Comics will give us next.
