Book Girl Thoughts: What do you look for in a book series?

For me a series has to have an interesting well written story and depending on the genre it should contain action and adventure, drama and suspense, a good mystery with surprises along the way and more. Also, if the story has romance, it should feel believable and that the characters actually have some kind of chemistry and are interested in each other.

A series should also have really interesting characters whether they are the good guys or the bad guys. The characters should be fleshed out and not feel one-dimensional. The writing should make you want to know more about them, hate them or love them and care what happens to them throughout the series.

And lastly the series should have a very satisfying ending. So when you read the last page it should make you feel like you've enjoyed your time reading it instead of feeling as if you wasted your time.

That might seem like a lot to ask for but a really good writer can give you all of that and more.
