Review:
I read the single issues not the trade edition shown.
Oh, man this is absolutely awful. It's worse than the first volume. The writing is horrible and so is the artwork.
Issues #7-9, had Green Arrow flying off to Canada after being lured by three sisters. He ended up falling into a trap set by them and their father. Oliver also loses his company to the CEO Emerson due to the world believing him to be dead. This story made no sense what so ever. It was poorly written and seem to lose focus half way through. Most of the story seems to be happening off panel somewhere because it seems like so much of the story was missing. I did mention that the artwork was horrible, right? Because it was.
Issue #10 is a stand alone story. In this story at least the artwork is better and the story was okay. In fact it's the only good story out the set and boy if that doesn't speak volumes to how bad these issues were. This story had GA trying to help a girl who thought she was a robot.
Issues #11 and 12 were back to the bad artwork but issue #13 had decent artwork but all three issues had a horrible story. In this story Oliver in an attempt to regain a majority share of his company, he traveled to china to try to negotiate but things didn't quite work out for him. He gets some help from another tech guy and Suzie Ming, a hero in China.
And lastly, issue #0 was a retelling of Oliver Queen/Green Arrows' origin story. The best thing about this was the artwork which wasn't that great. Again the writing is awful and the story is far from being interesting. Roy Harper (Red Arrow) was also shown in this but he's not an interesting character either. Oliver's origin story basically showed that he was a useless arrogant jerk who got his friends and girlfriend killed (yes, they went with that same old tired plot again).
This Green Arrow series is just plain awful and the character is an unlikeable arrogant jerk. I found this series to be atrocious and dropped it after issue #13. This is one the worst series in the new 52, I don't know why it had not been cancelled at that point.
I have heard that the issues #17 and on are much better, I may pick up a few of those to see if they actually are better (but I'm in no hurry to do so).
