Book Review: The Lightning Moon

Book: The Lightning Moon by Sylivia A. Winters

Source: Borrowed from Publisher/NetGalley for an honest review

Publication: Available now

Description:

Arrow enjoys his job—more or less. It pays well, lets him travel freely, and puts his rather unique skill set to good use. But when he finds a letter addressed to the most recent man he's been hired to track down, he begins to wonder if what he's got is what he really wants.

Quinn has mostly resigned himself to a lonely life and instead puts his focus on assisting the unusual clientele of the Crystal Moon Emporium, a shop catering exclusively to witches. It's a life, if not much of one, and he's getting by. Then a handsome stranger walks through the door, and Quinn starts to feel that maybe just 'getting by' is no longer enough.

Rating: 4 stars

Review:

This book reminds me of quote from Lex Luthor from the Superman movie: "Miss Teschmacher, some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it's a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe".

Because, although this is a short story it's a well written, fun and entertaining read. I have read full length books that are half as enjoyable as this story because they're bogged down with unnecessary page fillers.

In this supernatural based story, Arrow, a witch who is a bounty hunter (kind of) was hired by Henri (a werewolf) to find and return his runaway fiancée Jade (also a werewolf) who had run off with a guy she had met in Paris, Michael Harper.

While, tracking Michael and Jade to a small town in England, Arrow ended up meeting Quinn (Michael's brother) and figured out a way to succeed at his task by getting close to Quinn. But Arrow's schemed backfired because he actually started to fall for Quinn. But the thing is will it be possible for Quinn to still care for him after he learns the truth about Arrow and especially after Henri unexpectedly shows up.

This was a very interesting romantic story because not only was Jade and Michael on the run for love but it was also Quinn taking a second chance on love and Arrow actually willing to attempt love that made this all the more intriguing.

I'm interested in reading more from this author in the future.
