Review:
Wow, this was like Children of the Corn meets Lord of the Flies.
The story follows that a group of survivalist have made a compound some where in the hills and each of the families have stock piled supplies and weapons. But when Lucas (one of the older kids) believes a volcano is going to erupt and leave the world in shambles, he decides that they (all the kids) could not survive with their current supplies if the parents are around.
I can't understand why all the kids (except for Victoria and Hailey) would listen to what Lucas said. They killed their parents all because Lucas thinks a volcano in Yellowstone National Park is going to erupt and leave them trying to figure out how to survive. I don't know who's crazier Lucas or the kids who follow him?
This was good but it was so creepy that these kids would just follow along without questioning anything. Thankfully Victoria and Hailey had taken a walk in the woods when the other kids pulled off this horrific act or they might not have survived the ambush since they didn't go along with the rest of their hive mind thinking.
As expected, with the end of the world no where in sight (and with no parents around) the children start to fall into discord and chaos. It also seems like a small few are starting to question Lucas' plan. This ended on a cliffhanger with a truck pulling up to the compound with Lucas and his followers ready to attack. As well as Victoria and Hailey opened up their bunker to at least hear out Hailey's brother and another girl who have finally started to see Lucas in a different light.
This has left me intrigued enough to see if my local comic store carries this to pick up the sixth issue. I'm hoping the other kids will start to feel some remorse and realize that Lucas is really crazy.
Although there are children in this story, I wouldn't recommend this for them to read due to the graphic violence and language.
