Currently Reading: Working for the Devil and The Here and Now

Um, this seems like it will be interesting. I don't read a lot of supernatural/paranormal books but I thought the description seemed at least interesting.

Book: Working for the Devil (Dante Valentine book #1) by Lilith Saintcrow

Source: Library

Description:

When the Devil needs a rogue demon killed, who does he call?

The Player: Necromance-for-hire Dante Valentine is choosy about her jobs. Hot tempered and with nerves of steel, she can raise the dead like nobody's business. But one rainy Monday morning, everything goes straight to hell.

The Score: The Devil hires Dante to eliminate a rogue demon: Vardimal Santino. In return, he will let her live. It's an offer she can't refuse.

The Catch: How do you kill something that can't die?

I was invited to read this book by the publisher so hopefully it will be good. Well, the premise seems inventive.

Book: The Here and Now by Ann Brashares

Source: Borrowed from Publisher/NetGalley for an honest review

Publication: Available Now

Description:

An unforgettable epic romantic thriller about a girl from the future who might be able to save the world . . . if she lets go of the one thing she’s found to hold on to.

Follow the rules. Remember what happened. Never fall in love.

This is the story of seventeen-year-old Prenna James, who immigrated to New York when she was twelve. Except Prenna didn’t come from a different country. She came from a different time—a future where a mosquito-borne illness has mutated into a pandemic, killing millions and leaving the world in ruins.

Prenna and the others who escaped to the present day must follow a strict set of rules: never reveal where they’re from, never interfere with history, and never, ever be intimate with anyone outside their community. Prenna does as she’s told, believing she can help prevent the plague that will one day ravage the earth.

But everything changes when Prenna falls for Ethan Jarves.
