Review:

This was delightfully creepy. Reading it was like watching one of those old vampire movies. I know this series is based on the old TV series (which I've never seen an episode of) and I thought it was really good.

The story follows Barnabas Collins who makes a horrible mistake of cheating on his fiancée Josette with Angelique a young woman he met at a bar. Turns out it was even more of a mistake because not only was the young woman his fiancée's handmaiden but also a very powerful witch.

And that was only just the beginning of the Collins family bad luck because tragedies started happening at an alarming rate. And even more was in store for Barnabas after he married Angelique, who tricked him into it by telling him it was the only way to save his sister, who was deathly ill. Although Barnabas married Angelique, he had no intentions of falling in love with her and that angered her into taking her revenge by placing a curse on him.

The curse turned Barnabas into a vampire.

As the death tolls start to increase in the town, witches are getting the blame for it which start the witch hunt.

The Collins family continued to suffer from more deaths and not all due to Barnabas.

I found the story to be very well written and the artwork had a very old and scary feel to it. I wonder if the my local comic book store carries this series because I would love to read more from it.
