The Kents are truly missed in the New 52 because Clark really doesn't have any family or anyone that he can talk to. They've pretty much removed Lois Lane from his life and he's not really that close to either Kara or Conner. Which makes scenes like the one above so sad.
Because when you think about it, his parents just didn't make the cut for things to include for this new take on the series. I guess they weren't cool and edgy enough.
