Book: Hunting the Witch (Jane Lawless book #9) by Ellen Hart
Rating: 2 stars
Review:
I bought this book from a library book sale and now I can understand why it was there. This book is so boring.
Jane Lawless is the owner of a restaurant but has been trying to recover from a head injury she received in a previous book (since this is my first time reading anything from this author I'm just guessing). She has been staying with her ex-girlfriend Julia Martinsen who is a doctor. But in between dealing with her recovery, Jane was starting to notice some strange occurrences surrounding Julia. There was a multitude of phone calls coming in and some included threats. Next, someone broke into Julia's house while Jane was there, the person was trying to get to the doctor's files.
Some how Jane found herself investigating the death of Jeffrey Chapel, a prominent man who seems to have been keeping a lot of secrets and some how it tied into Julia's situation.
Most of the story was spent focusing on Jane dealing with her injury. The story used her recovery as a plot device because it's not like she was having financial problems so I don't understand why she couldn't have went through physical therapy. Instead she was depressed that she wasn't healing fast enough and started relying on alcohol to get her through.
Now for the mystery, the murder of Jeffrey Chapel, it dragged on and on and was way too easy to figure out.
This wasn't that good or interesting and I think I will be donating this back to the library.
