Will the Discovery Channel Ruin the Hub Network?

Starting Monday, October 13th, the Hub Network will be turned into the new Discovery Family Channel. The Discovery Channel programming's will air their shows starting at 5 PM with some of the Hub's original programs still airing Monday through Friday from 5 AM to 5 PM with more air time scheduled for the weekend.

I really enjoyed watching the Hub Channel they aired a combination of new and older shows, where else could you watch Littlest Pet ShopBlossom, Sister Sister, My Little PonyTransformers, Tiny ToonsAlfStrawberry Shortcake and many more. There was no other channel like it but now that Discovery will be taking over make way for marathons of Hillbilly Handfishin', Cake Boss and How Do They Do It? (check the upcoming line up they are all scheduled to air). Gee, that sounds so fun and exciting. Not for me.

I wonder how this new hybrid channel is going to work? So what is going to happen to the family movie time? The Hub used to show various family friendly movies in the evening during the week and weekend. And not to mention the family friendly game shows. I highly doubt a marathon of Factory Made will appease kids. Take note, for Columbus Day there will be a movie marathon but it will end before 5 PM.

I'm hoping that Discovery Family will be a change for the better but that's something we will have to wait and see.
