TV Round Up: Marvel's Agent Carter Premiere

Episode #1: Now is Not the End

Episode #2: Bridge and Tunnel

Rating for both episodes: 5 stars

Two hours was not enough for the premiere of Agent Carter, that was really fantastic. Where the other comic book shows have failed to deliver, these first two episodes showed that you can do something truly unique and create something phenomenal. What makes this show, well at least the first two episodes, so great is the smart writing and great acting. Every one of the actors cast did a wonderful job with their roles and Hayley Atwell is truly amazing as Agent Margaret "Peggy" Carter. I love all the retro clothes Peggy wore on the show, stylish and functional.

This miniseries follows Peggy after the war working for the Strategic Scientific Reserve but is her talents, skills and intellect being utilized, no she is relegated to being nothing short of a secretary despite being an agent. Until Howard Stark finds himself in trouble and needs her help to clear his name. She gets some assistance from Stark's butler Edwin Jarvis whether she wants it or not.

Agent Carter is a fast moving, action-packed drama that has plenty of heart and humor. This show is not hindered like other superhero shows of doing the same old thing and getting the same typical formulaic results.

Agent Carter, the show and the character are one of a kind and I will definitely be tuning in for the rest of this miniseries to see all the hijinks that Peggy will surely find herself in as she tries to clear Howard Stark's name. I think Peggy is just as much a hero as Captain America and she proves it by going out there trying to keep the world safe.

This is one of the best comic book shows I've seen in a while. I do hope it's a success and will turn into a series.
