Why in the world did they even call this Jem and the Holograms? Everything that made that cartoon special and amazing has been cut out and watered down with this shallow generic crap.
Yes, fans knew there were going to be changes but to take away Starlight Music from Jerrica and Kimber (their father left it to them after his death) and to remove the whole reason for Jerrica, Aja, Shana and Kimber to become Jem and the Holograms is ridiculous (no Eric Raymond and The Misfits). Not to mention there is NO Synergy, the highly advanced computer that can create amazing holograms.
They de-aged them and turned them into still finding there way teenagers instead of being young women who were smart, capable and truly outrageous (yeah, just had to toss that in) to not only to be one of the most popular music groups around but also running Starlight House a home for foster girls.
I see why so many fans have been criticizing this, it's just another money grabber. I had no plans of going to see this movie especially after everything I heard about it. However, if I was planning on seeing the movie, this trailer most certainly would have killed my enthusiasm for it.
It's like one big horrible cliché. For anyone who's actually interested in seeing this movie it will be in theaters October 23, 2015. However, they will not be getting any of my money.
