Happy 77th Anniversary to Action Comics #1

Action Comics #1, the issue that first introduced Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane to the world. Before there was a Daily Planet, Kypton, Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olson, Perry White or even Clark's parents The Kents, there was Lois and Clark.

Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster probably had no idea that they were creating two of the most iconic characters in comics. Superman is this huge phenomenon who inspires people all over the world. As Superman he protects the universe and stands for truth and justice but as Clark Kent he gets to live what would be considered ordinary to most but wonderful for him. And Lois Lane who has also been very inspiring is considered to be one of the best reporters in the comic book world by constantly seeking to fight for truth and justice through her words and her actions.

On a not so positive note, since the start of the New 52, Lois Lane has been written out of character (Clark as well) and been underused. She's been pushed out of the Superman story despite the fact that she's been there since day one. For some reason the current climate over at DC Comics seem to be anti-Lois Lane and they have forgotten that she was and should still be an integral part to the Superman mythology.

For a book that introduced Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, only Lois has been barely shown especially now. Here's hoping that those executives over at DC Comics finally realize what a wonderful character Lois Lane is and start putting her back where she belongs.

These two characters may have undergone many changes over the 70+ years, but that hasn't stopped fans from continuing to stick with them. They have been co-workers, the dynamic duo, friends, dating and later married, it may take some time but eventually they will have to fix the mess they are making over there at DC Comics in regards to the Superman story. Hopefully it will be soon.
