Comic Book News: DC Comics cancelled more books and more

** Some news that I had not been expecting to hear was Sensation Comics featuring Wonder Woman being cancelled. I think it's actually better than the current Wonder Woman series. According to reports, the last issue will be #17.

Other books that have been cancelled are:

- Batman '66 (ends with issue #30)

- Doomed (ends with issue #6)

- Justice League United (ends with issue #16)

- Green Lantern: Lost Army (ends with issue #6)

- Gotham by Midnight (will end with issue #12)

- The Omega Men (ends with issue #7)

- Lobo (ends with issue #13)

** The Catwoman series will be getting a change with the creative team, the new team will be writer Frank Tiere and artist Inaki Miranda. The team is scheduled to take over in November with issue #47.

** Harley Quinn will be getting another new comic book series titled Harley's Little Black Book. It will be written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti and will be out in December. I like Harley Quinn, I've been a fan since Batman: The Animated Series but I think now the character has become too overused.

** Mary Jane Watson will be heading to the upcoming Invincible Iron Man series which is available in October with her first appearance being in issue #4 which will available in December. As of now it's not sure what her role will be in the comic but many speculate that she will become Tony Stark's latest love interest. The creative team for the series is Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez.

It seems like Marvel is adding gimmicks to their books in hopes to increase sales. That cover is quite insulting because it's the same pose she had when she gave the iconic "Face It Tiger" line to Peter. It's almost as bad as that Justice League #12 cover where they recreated the also iconic pose between Superman and Lois Lane with an inferior version between Superman and Wonder Woman.

I do hope this will be a good move for Mary Jane giving her an important role in this series (but without her having to be in a relationship with Tony) especially since like Lois Lane she seems to be an afterthought over there at Marvel. Despite fans enjoying Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, Marvel doesn't seem to get that fans like seeing Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson together and in RYV she was an amazingly well written character in that.
