Two shows to set your DVR for: Doc McStuffins Meets the First Lady and a New Scooby-Doo Cartoon Premieres

Doc McStuffins

Doc McStuffins  9:00 AM EST  Disney Channel

On today's new episode of Doc McStuffins, Dottie "Doc" McStuffin and several other children who make a difference are invited to the White House for a special ceremony.

The episode will also show Doc and the other children meeting the First Lady Michelle Obama, taking a tour of the White House and receiving awards.

I like Doc McStuffin, it's a cute show that inspires kids to follow their dreams and have fun along the way.

Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!

Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!  premieres tonight at 7:00 PM EST  Cartoon Network

I'm a huge Scooby-Doo fan but I wasn't a fan of Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. because for one thing it wasn't very kid-friendly and the mystery solving became secondary to all the other unnecessary drama on the show. It's was very dark and gloomy and way too focused on romance. They made Fred really dumb, Velma self-conscious, Daphne desperate and Shaggy a loser. Now with the second season you could tell they tried to put the mystery solving first but by then the show lost it's appeal with me. I wasn't surprised when this show didn't get another season, it wasn't the best.

Which is why I was so happy to hear a new Scooby-Doo! series was being made. From the trailer it looks like the show is going for more humor as the gang tries to solve mysteries. The voice actors for this series are Frank Welker (who has been the voice of Fred Jones since the original Scooby-Doo series and also recently started voicing Scooby-Doo), Grey DeLisle (Daphne Blake) and Matthew Lillard (Norville "Shaggy" Rogers) with Kate Micucci (The Big Bang Theory and Garfunkel and Oats) as the new voice of Velma Dinkley.
