Video: Belle's Walk through her Village (Beauty and the Beast)

Happy Friday!

I don't know why? But I woke up thinking about Beauty and the Beast. I love not only the animated movie but also the live action one (especially since I'm usually not a fan of live action remakes of animated movies).

It's just something about Belle, the bookworm and dreamer, wanting so much more than what's in her small town. And due to her father being captured by the Beast, she found herself having a very, very different experience in order to free him. It's been a while since I've watched either movie maybe I'll watch one this weekend.

Hiatus Watch: Wizards Beyond Waverly Place (+ Trailer)

There are quite a few shows I want to watch during this hiatus and the latest one I found is Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. It's a spin-off from Wizards of Waverly Place and in this new series it follows Justin Russo, who is stepping back into the magical world after leaving it behind. Surprisingly, he never told his wife Giada and their kids Roman and Milo that he was a wizard. Justin was asked by his younger sister Alex to teach Billie, a young and rebellious wizard who although is very powerful, she has no discipline. Also, there's some sort of prophesy about Billie (which she doesn't know about) but it may end up with her having to save the world. Which at the moment she is definitely not prepared for. Which is why Justin will really have to teach her everything she needs to know about magic. What I found interesting is that it didn't take long before Giada, Roman and Milo found out about magic (well, the kids found out in the first episode).

So far, I only watched the first two episodes (there are 10 episodes that have already aired) and I already really like this show. It's funny, cute, fast paced and has plenty of magic. I like all the characters, Billie is smart and full of energy which can sometimes get her in trouble especially in regards to her magic. Justin is still the same (studious and structured), he's just an adult now. Giada who is an Investigative Reporter is both smart and a little wacky. She also has this tacky sense of fashion that works for her. As for their kids, Roman and Milo they are very opposite. Where Roman is a mini version of his dad (studious and structured), Milo is a little whimsical weirdo but it also works for him.

I'm a big fan of supernatural shows and it's been a while since I've watched a Disney Channel show which is why I'm glad I found Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. While I'm getting caught up on the remainder of the first 10 episodes, funny enough I think this show might be on hiatus. There are still 11 more episodes to air for the rest of season but I don't see when a new episode is scheduled.

Entertainment News #24: 9-1-1 guest actress post Anti-Trans "Joke" and The Little Mermaid is the #1 Movie

- I debated whether to post this because I don't like giving people who push hate attention but this is entertainment news. So, apparently Edy Ganem, the actress who is playing Marisol on 9-1-1 reposted on her Instagram story a transphobic "joke" that mocks trans athletes. Since it was in her story, it's since disappeared as apposed to if she had simply posted it.

Now that 9-1-1 has moved to ABC, I hope the executives over there will look into this and let her go from her guest/recurring role. Since she doesn't play a main character it would be easy to get rid of her character by writing her out of the upcoming 7th season. But I doubt anything will happen with her getting fired since she's already such a C-grade/irrelevant actress that they probably don't think she's worth getting rid of. The 9-1-1 franchise has a very large LGBTQ+ fan base and that should be taken into consideration when looking into this. It's disappointing what the actress posted but not unexpected because hate is everywhere. But if you're silent about hate then you're enabling it.




- The Little Mermaid is the #1 movie and has made $163.5 million worldwide at the box office. It's currently listed as the fifth-highest Memorial Day weekend opening of all time. I'm glad the movie is doing very well especially since there was a racist backlash when it was announced that actress Haile Bailey was cast as Ariel. I can't wait to see this movie.

There is no better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than by sipping a delightful cup of tea. I was planning on going with my friends to see The Little Mermaid but I got a little too comfortable relaxing. And I don't want to get up from where I'm lounging and go the movies. But I do really want to see The Little Mermaid, so I'll go and see it sometime later this week.

Disney Plus Removal Watch Final Update

Here's my final update on my Disney Plus removal watch, I never watched so much TV as I have these past few days. But I tried my best and I was able to watch nearly everything on my list (below) except for the final two episodes of the second season of Diary of a Future President. I really wish I could have seen those episodes because this was such a good show and I love the characters. And now, I guess the only way I'll know what happened in those last two episodes is by reading reviews.

I can't believe all the shows and movies I picked were so good. These were shows and movies I had planned to watch but I just never got around to watching them until now. It's so disappointing that all the 60-70+ shows and movies were removed from both Disney Plus and Hulu will never be seen again. Especially since these executives running these streaming services, networks, studios, etc. no longer see the value in putting shows and movies on DVD or preserving media.

I guess for now on, if there's a show or movie I want to watch, I'll make sure to do just that. And with the way so many shows are cancelled and sometimes later removed, if you don't watch them, they will most likely never be seen again. This is a terrible business practice.

Update on my Disney+ Shows and Movie Watch

I wanted to post a little update to my question about What soon to be removed Disney+ shows and movies are you watching? So, I finished watching all two seasons of The Mysterious Benedict Society and I watched the Artemis Fowl movie. I have to say that I loved both of them and it made me want to read the book series both the show and movie were based on.

So after that, I started watching The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, I'm currently on the second season. And again, this is actually a really good show. And it's totally rekindled my love of The Mighty Ducks movies, the second one is still my favorite and is the best out of the franchise. And once I finish The Mighty Ducks, I still have six things left on my lists that I hope to watch before they're removed.

How was your weekend? I hope it was good. Well, I was wondering if you've been watching any of the shows and movies that are going to be removed from Disney+?

As soon as I heard the news, which was disappointing to read because it makes no sense for a company to remove their own product. I guess the company is taking a page from HBO Max's book. It's suggested that they are removing lower watched shows and movie to save money as well as they don't have to pay residuals. Which is one of the reasons why the writers are striking.

I wanted to post this video of Halle Bailey singing "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid movie. I just think her voice is so beautiful. I can't wait to see The Little Mermaid, even though I still don't get why Disney keeps making live action versions of the company's animated movies. Also, why couldn't Sebastian the crab and Flounder the fish be as cute and adorable as they are in the animated movies and TV series? Who needs realistic looking sea animals when the movie is centered around mermaids and other under the sea mystical beings?

Fashion Meets Fandom: Tinker Bell Dress

I've been a fan of Tinker Bell ever since I watched the Disney Peter Pan movie. She's feisty, impulsive, slightly hot-headed and has an unwavering crush on Peter Pan. I also love watching those Tinker Bell movies and throughout each movie you get to see a little more to her character especially in the first one. Also throughout the movies, you see how creative and inventive Tinker is especially since she's a Tinker Fairy. 

Well this post isn't about the character but this really cute Tinker Bell pattern midi dress that I found (it's posted below). There's nothing like a cute spring or summer dress especially with a subtle Tinker Bell and floral pattern. I like the simple shape and light green color that's flattering for nearly everyone.

This is an easy breezy comfy looking dress that feels like a summer staple. And I think it would look cute with nearly any shoe: flip flop, sandals, heels, gym shoes, wedges, etc. And for cooler nights, pair it with a lightweight sweater, denim jacket or blazer.

Entertainment News #20: Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Special, Gossip Girl, M3GAN, K.C. Undercover, Bel-Air

- The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always 30th Anniversary Special will premiere Wednesday, April 19th on Netflix. According to reports, the special will have the Rangers reuniting to deal with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs.

Starring in the special are David Yost (Billy Cranston/Blue Power Ranger), Walter E. Jones (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger), Catherine Sutherland (Katherine "Kat" Hillard/Pink Power Ranger), Steve Cardenas (Rocco "Rocky" DeSantos/Red Power Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell/Yellow Power Ranger) and Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park/Black Power Ranger).

The special will also feature Barbara Goodson (who was the voice of Rita Repulsa), Richard Horvitz (who was the voice of Alpha 5) and a surprising new character Minh (played by Charlie Kersh) who is the daughter of original Yellow Ranger Trini Kwan.

Characters Reading: Shego

In the Kim Possible episode Adventures in Rufus-Sitting, some of the villains including Shego were trying to get a computer chip that Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable had retrieved earlier in the episode. While Ron was away on a family trip in Paris, FR, Kim was pet sitting Rufus who had unknowingly ate the chip when it accidently fell into his food. So when the computer chip activated, that had several villains being alerted and tried to get Rufus to get to the chip.

Before Shego was alerted by the chip's activation, she was waiting in line at Smarty Mart reading the Weekly Wonder newspaper (or magazine). Looking at the front page, this looks like a tabloid paper reporting on random, ridiculous and sensational "news". I can see Shego picking this up and reading it to kill time while she waited in line.

What are five underrated shows?

I've seen this question, what are five underrated shows? asked a lot and I figured I'd go ahead and answer it. There are more than five shows that I think are underrated and I'll probably write another list. But for now, here are five shows I think are underrated:

1. Beauty and the Beast (2012-2016   The CW)

I always felt like Beauty and the Beast was such an amazing show that had an interesting take on the old fairy tale but it was also one of the most underrated shows on The CW. And when it aired, I found it was barely promoted compared to how The CW promoted the channel's other shows. It was also a loosely based reboot of the 1980's Beauty and the Beast TV series.

Teaser Trailer: The Little Mermaid

I know I've mentioned a few times that I'm not the biggest fan of Disney constantly making live-action versions of the company's animated movies. The company's latest live-action movie is Pinocchio and it was just released on Disney+ on Thursday (Sept. 8th). My issue with live-action adaptaion is mainly because I feel like it's a lack of imagination and creativity and plus I don't think animation is appreciated enough. However with that said, I have watched nearly all of the live-action movies because I love the stories.

Which brings me to Disney's upcoming movie The Little Mermaid. I think this teaser trailer looks absolutely beautiful, it makes you want to explore the sea that Ariel truly wants to leave for our world and Prince Eric. I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie and seeing if there are any changes to the story because there usually is with the live-action versions. The Little Mermaid is scheduled to be released in theatres on May 26, 2023.

Characters Reading: Belle (Beauty and the Beast)

Belle from Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite fictional bookworms. And what I really like about her is that despite living in such a negative environment with narrow-minded townspeople, she didn't let their opinions of her "being odd" for wanting to read, stop her from reading. She loves to read. To the point where she is so fully engrossed that she doesn't at times notice what's going on around her as she walks through the town's square.

I love a captivated reader but as a fellow bookworm I would probably advise not getting so captivated or engrossed that you are no longer aware of your surroundings. By all means, please enjoy reading just be safe and be aware, you don't want to cause or get into an accident.
