Book: Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike book #3) by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling)
Source: Library
Rating: 1 star (Did Not Finish)
Review:
My review for Career of Evil is rather short since I didn't finish reading it. I only read around 70+ pages before calling it quits, the story just wasn't holding my attention. Unlike the second book The Silkworm which I thought was amazingly well-written and exciting, this one was just plain boring.
Despite the discovery of a severed leg that was delivered to Cormoran Strike's assistant Robin Ellacott this story was unfocused and moved all over the place focusing on unnecessary things. Cormoran was trying to figure who may have sent the leg and had several persons of interest he planned to look into which also includes his former stepfather. The story also showed the killer's point of view which didn't add anything to the story.
Career of Evil feels like a rare flub by J.K. Rowling because not only was the story lacking a real plot but Strike and Robin were no longer interesting, they were written as very dull and dreary.
J.K. Rowling may be a very good writer but this unfortunately wasn't a good read.
