Review:

I hate to admit it but this junior novelization of Thor: The Dark World had a better grasp of the story than the movie did. Don't get me wrong, the movie was good but I always felt like the plot had been edited too much. This book although not the complete story (it ends with the funeral scene), filled in many of the scenes and did something that I absolutely love, the author didn't kill off Queen Frigga. I still don't understand why that even happened in the movie. This story also did something completely unbelievable, it actually made Thor and Jane's forced romance feel somewhat real. Movie wise Jane and Thor lacked romantic chemistry but the author was able to invoke a sense of emotion and romance between these two that has yet to be seen on screen.

Although this is for middle grade readers, this was rather well-written and very descriptive and it added so much depth to all the characters. It would have been nice if the story was completed, but what is here isn't bad at all. It's a fun read.
