Wonder Woman Movie, Where is Phillipus?

I'm not going to lie, I am very disappointed that the Wonder Woman movie decided not to include Phillipus as one of Diana's trainers and as a member of the immediate family. If they bothered to read the comics they would know that she was one of Diana's trainers as well as being a close friend to Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons. She was Captain of the Amazon army and at one point even ruled over Themyscira, so what does that tell you about her.

It's bad enough that Phillipus wasn't included in the 2009 Wonder Woman animated movie but it's even worse to be overlooked again especially since in the new movie they are focusing on the women who help train Diana. I don't understand why Phillipus is not in this movie?

Yet when I look at this picture above it speaks to Hollywood's lack of diversity because with director Patty Jenkins stating that this is Diana's direct family, I find that is just an excuse not to have a black woman as one of Diana's "direct family" members. Besides Wonder Woman, the women featured in the above picture are: (from L to R) Menalippe (played by Lisa Loven Kongsli), Queen Hippolyta (played by Connie Nielsen) and Antiope (played by Robin Wright). There is no excuse for Phillipus not to have been included in this picture.

If this is about telling Diana's story from the beginning then why leave such an important character out. Why can't the main women in Diana's life not have been more diverse? As a huge Wonder Woman fan, this is really making me second guess seeing this movie.

The message for Wonder Woman has always been of equality and love but it doesn't seemed to have been incorporated into the world of the Amazons.
