Artwork: Captain America: The Winter Soldier - The End by maXKennedy
This artwork is based on the iconic image of the sailor kissing the nurse. It's been debated whether the sailor's kiss was a romantic gesture or something downright creepy and wrong. Reports have been made that the sailor and nurse didn't even know each other and that he was possibly drunk when he kissed her.
The photo was taken by photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt on V-J Day in Times Square on August 14, 1945. Looking at the two pictures below that kiss does look rather uncomfortable and unwanted. As opposed to the artist's work above, Bucky and Steve's kiss appears romantic instead of forced and unwelcomed.
Granted 1945 was a different time but no one in this day in age should have to put up with inappropriate advances.
