Most Memorable Scene: Highway Fight Scene (Captain America: The Winter Soldier)

I absolutely love Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It's been forever since I've seen this movie and I can't believe it's been 10 years since it was released in theatres on April 4, 2014. It's just crazy how time just flies by. But you know what, it still holds up as an amazing movie. Anyway, this is the perfect spy/espionage thriller. It follows as Captain America, Nick Fury, Black Widow and Falcon uncovering a terrifying secret that Hydra was in control of S.H.I.E.L.D. and as well as having infiltrated the US government.

Now for this scene, the highway scene was so unexpected because they were totally ambushed by Hydra. And Hydra was going to do whatever it took to take them out. It didn't matter if there were people around they were nothing more than casualties. Which is sad but not unexpected. Despite Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon being out numbered and dealing with a lot fire power, that didn't stop them. Which unfortunately they were temporarily captured by Hydra but it didn't last long thanks to Maria Hill. I'm really going to have re-watch this movie.

Throwback Thursday: Scarlet Witch and Vision vs Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive (Avengers: Infinity War)

I remember when I saw Avengers: Infinity War in the theatre and seeing Scarlet Witch and Vision being so caught off guard and not being able to really go up against Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive. But it was like a total pin drop when Captain America, Falcon and Black Widow showed up to save them. I think it was a combination of seeing Wanda and Vision losing so terribly to the shock of seeing who showed up to help them. Avengers: Infinity War is still one of my favorite movies, it was just so fantastic.

Rumor: Sharon Carter to be a Love Interest to Sam Wilson or Bucky Barnes in "The Falcon and The Winter Solder"

There's a rumor going around that Sharon Carter will be either Sam Wilson or Bucky Barnes' love interest in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier TV Series. It should be noted that this has not been confirmed by Disney and I hope this is nothing more than a terrible rumor because Sharon deserves more than being a love interest to one of Steve Rogers best friends. Plus, that would be so weird especially since the last time all three saw each other was when Sharon and Steve kissed in a parking lot.

I feel like the MCU ruined so many comic book canon relationships and the writers went out of their way to pair characters up randomly for instance Natasha Romanov with Bruce Banner instead of Nat being with Bucky. Steve ending up with Peggy Carter instead of with Sharon.

From watching various trailers, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier doesn't seem like a show that needs a romance. I see a lot of fans saying that the MCU has yet to have a LGBTQ relationship with main characters and feel like Sam and Bucky could be that couple. As much as I think that would be so cool and awesome, I highly doubt Marvel is going to let that happen. So odds are there is no romance in this show and if it is, hopefully it's Sharon getting a love interest that's not Sam or Bucky. Since the MCU ruined her relationship with Steve, she deserves a romance that's not a reminder of her former love.

Most Memorable Scene: Captain America, Black Panther, Bucky Barnes and Falcon chase scene from Captain America: Civil War

I found this chase scene from Captain America: Civil War to be memorable because it's so unintentionally funny. From Bucky Barnes, Black Panther and Captain America running at top speed through a tunnel full of moving cars to Cap carjacking a police car with Black Panther catching a ride. Cap running into police cars trying to get rid of his unexpected passenger.

All of this in order to try to catch up with Bucky who is running for his life that is until he stole a motorcycle. And not to mention Falcon trying to get rid of Black Panther, coupled with an explosion, Cap running from yet another car rolling over then tackling the Black Panther which culminated into an awkward arrest for all four.

This entire chase scene is just so ridiculous but in a good and funny way. I really never get tired of seeing it. I know this wasn't meant to be funny but I couldn't help laughing at all the ridiculous things they were all doing.

What are your favorite Marvel movies featuring Captain America?

I don't know why I keep forgetting Steve Rogers birthday is the 4th of July. So, in belated honor of the retired Captain (in the MCU) I wanted to know what are your favorite Marvel movies featuring or starring Captain America?

My favorite movies that feature Captain America are:

Captain America: The First Avenger

This is the first movie that introduces the viewer (especially non-comic book fans) to Steve Rogers where you see who he is and what he believes in. This is a guy who may be sick and scrawny but he was trying his best to sign up for the army to fight the Nazis like his best friend James "Bucky" Barnes. However, his medical condition made it impossible but that didn't stop him from continuing to enlist. That's the thing about Steve he won't give up (except for the ridiculous reason in Avengers: Endgame) and he won't back down from bullies. Even before he became Captain America, Steve already had the essence of being a hero and was already a good person.

Illustration of the Day: Iron Man and Captain America

Not sure if wishing Steve good luck was really on Tony's mind with that impromptu kiss. But I guess if they were going into a battle, he was going to take his chances while using a flimsy excuse as cover.

Happy Birthday, Captain America!

For some reason, I always forget to post something for Steve Rogers' birthday but as a big comic book fan I wasn't going to forget this time.

Happy Birthday, Captain America! You are a symbol of fighting for what is right and your unwavering strength of character. I think Steve would celebrate both his birthday and the 4th of July, although he would be disappointed with the current state the country is in but he would remember what he fought and still fights for.

Celebrate Caps birthday by reading some Captain America comics and watching the Captain America trilogy and the Avengers movies: Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity Wars and Avengers: Endgame (if it's still in a theatre near you).

Art of the Day: Tony Stark and Steve Rogers

I take it Steve is absolutely surprised by the 3D movie they went to see. Meanwhile, Tony looks slightly annoyed and like he's hoping Steve's popcorn doesn't get on his suit.

Steve Rogers deserved a better ending in Avengers: Endgame

I know I wrote about Steve Rogers ending in Avengers: Endgame before but I really wish his ending had been different. I would have had Steve return the infinity stones, however, with a much needed stop to visit Peggy Carter before returning to the present. Steve truly needed closure with her and I think if the two had a nice talk and shared a dance, it would have given him what he needed to truly be able to move on.

(Avengers: Endgame)

He should have returned to the present knowing that Peggy was a part of his past and that he couldn't truly go back. Steve Rogers was always shown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as someone moving forward which is why I was disappointed with his ending in Endgame. It felt like a huge step backwards with him trying to live a life of nostalgia instead of seeing the life that he had built in the present.

I didn't have an issue with Steve retiring, he has been fighting for a long time but he didn't have to be an old man for that to have happened. After returning the stones, he still could have retired and passed over the shield to Sam Wilson. Then Steve could have found a new interest or went back to an old one such as art. I think it would have been cool to have seen Steve enrolled in art classes at NYU (New York University), displaying his art in an exhibit or taking a much needed vacation. Regardless, it would have been nice if his ending had simply shown Steve Rogers continuing to embrace the present.

This will probably be my final post on Steve Rogers ending for Avengers: Endgame, well at least for a while. I guess it still bugs me that they wrote Steve out of character with him struggling to move on because he has always been someone who was moving forward.

Characters Reading: Steve Rogers (Captain America: Civil War)

I always found this scene from Captain America: Civil War to be interesting because while Tony Stark, Vision, Natasha Romanoff, James Rhodes, Sam Wilson and Wanda Maximoff were trying to discuss what they should do about the Sokovia Accords, Steve Rogers was trying to read through the manual.

I don't recall if Steve has speed-reading abilities but he definitely has a photographic memory as well as can process information faster than most people. So while the group was having a discussion, Steve was able to not only follow the conversation while also finding out as much information as he could about the legislation.

I'm Still Disappointed that Steve Rogers ended up with Peggy Carter in "Avengers: Endgame"

I know with the current state of the country and the world, I know it's ridiculous to still feel annoyed that in Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers abandoned his life and friends in the present to go back into the past for Margaret "Peggy" Carter. And not to mention, Steve going back into the past ruined Peggy's story because she had definitely moved on and had lived a fulfilling life. However, Steve going back and changing Peggy's life was a terrible thing to do simply because in this movie he couldn't move on. Steve treated Peggy as if she was some prize that he won at the end of the fight.

Art of the Day: Captain America and Sharon Carter

Artwork: Captain America and Sharon Carter by Adyon

Sharon Carter can most certainly take care of herself but Cap is not going to let the love of his life get hurt if he can help it. I really like Sharon but she really doesn't get enough attention in fandom especially not since the Marvel movies continue to fixate on Peggy Carter.

As a Peggy Carter fan she deserves more than to keep being associated as Steve's old love in the MCU.
