Review:

Blood Stain volume one is a humorous look at one young woman's ups and downs of trying to find a job.

27 years old Elliot Torres was having a terrible time holding onto a job. For the past two years, she has been fired from one job after another. However, her sister Clara who was out on maternity leave told her point blank that Elly needed to try harder at finding and keeping a job. Clara and her husband's finances were dwindling a bit and with Clara and Elly's mother recovering from surgery they couldn't continue to let Elly loaf around the house doing nothing.

Elly did find a job that would be perfect for her, being an assistant to a scientist. However, speaking with Dr. Vlad Stein over the phone creeped her out. So she put off doing anything to get the job but after losing yet another job, she finally realized she desperately needed a job. She decided to reapply for the assistant position.

After speaking with Dr. Stein for a second time she officially had the job. Well, that is on a trial basis. But there was a catch. She had to leave immediately to catch a flight, he would have someone at the airport to meet her. Everything was happening so fast that she didn't even have time to tell her sister or her boyfriend that she needed to leave. All the trouble she had getting there, may have been the easy part in this ordeal. Because after meeting Serge Wells, the guy who was waiting for her at the airport, she soon was in full on panic mode with her paranoia reaching high levels as they traveled to the doctor's home. The whole situation felt like she was in a horror movie and meeting the doctor didn't help.

I love this story, it's so funny yet has a slightly creepy vibe to it especially the scenes with the doctor. I also love the artwork, it's bright and colorful as well as dark and mysterious (with really good shading). After reading this, I immediately added vol #2 to my wishlist. Now all I have to do is wait,  unfortunately the sequel won't be out until September.
