Review:

What is it with finding these books published in 1989? First Batman and now this one. I bought this Nancy Drew book last year at the library book sale. It's actually in pretty good condition for a 27 years old book.

In this mystery, Nancy Drew was a little stumped trying to solve the disappearance of deejay Dan Wildman. This started with Nancy and her two best friends Bess Marvin and George Fayne were sitting in Nancy's back yard listening to music on the radio. On the air was deejay Dan "the Wild Man" Wildman, who was quickly becoming a fan favorite among listeners, after the music ended the girls soon heard what sounded like a struggle then someone calling for help ending with the radio going dead.

The girls quickly headed to the radio station to see what had happened. Once there, Nancy found out that Dan Wildman had been kidnapped and she was asked by the station manager Helena Santos if she could investigate the incident. Nancy received some opposition to her investigation from the station owner Neal Graham and popular deejay Rockin' Ray Ludlow. Neither one seemed too concerned about Wildman's abduction. In fact both seem to be benefiting from it.

As Nancy investigated she found plenty of suspects but was having a hard time finding clues. That is until evidence started to point to one person. However, Nancy wasn't sure that the suspect was really behind the abduction and wanted to prove their innocence.

I like this story, it was fast-paced and I read it in only a few hours. There is an interesting twist in how Nancy went about solving the case and unveiling the suspect. I was surprised that George wasn't in this as much. But Bess did assist Nancy with the case by taking a job at the radio station.

I love finding these old Nancy Drew books the mysteries the writers are able to come up with are generally very engaging and filled with a good amount of action, drama and suspense.
