Comic Book News #6: A New Josie and the Pussycats comic and more

I try to make sure I bring you as much Comic Book News as possible. Here are some upcoming books to look out for:


- Archie Comics will be publishing a new Josie and the Pussycats comic book series. It will be co-written by Marguerite Bennett and Cameron DeOrdio with illustrations by Andrey Mok. Be on the lookout for the first issue which will be available on September 28th.






- For those who love Atari, Dynamite Comics is publishing The Art of Atari book. It will be written by Robert V. Conte and Tim Lapetino and will be available on October 25th. According to reports, the book will include behind-the-scenes details on how dozens of games (that are featured within the book) were conceived, illustrated, approved (or rejected) and then brought to life.






- The comic book series Paper Girls won an Eisner Award for Best New Series. It's published by Image Comics and written by Brian K. Vaughan with illustrations by Cliff Chiang. I have the first volume sitting on my book shelf, I'm going to have to read it see what makes this such an award wining series.






- Boom! Studios is releasing a new miniseries titled The Backstagers. According to reports, it's an all ages comic that will focus on an all-boys private school's theater crew as they explore the magical world of being a part of the stage crew. It will be written by James Tynion IV with illustrations by Rian Sygh. The first issue will be available on August 17th.
