Geek on a Budget: How to Save Money on Buying Weekly Comics

As a comic book geek, I get asked plenty of questions and one that's asked the most is: what advice would you give to someone who is new to reading comics? Seeing as though it's Comic Book Wednesday it seemed appropriated to post this Geek on a Budget related post.

Depending on how many comics you buy during the week it can be rather costly. So some advice I have for new readers which I hope will save you some money is this. I would recommend seeing if the comic book store you frequent the most has a Customer Loyalty Program.

With new comic books out every Wednesday and depending on the program, you can easily save a good amount of money. But be sure to ask questions about the program before you sign up, it's good to find out what benefits are or are not included. You also want to find out if the program is free or one you have to pay to join.

If you're wondering if these programs are worth it? I would say yes because if you're buying comic books on a weekly basis you may as well save some money while doing it. Again depending on the program you may also be able to save money on trade editions, collectibles and more. So please speak with the owner or an employee at your local comic book store to see if there is a Customer Loyalty Program.
