For new fans of Ivy something you may not know is that despite recently celebrating her 50th anniversary, the character has never had a solo ongoing series. Besides being featured in various comics over the years which includes Batman, Detective Comics, Harley Quinn and in the very popular as well as one of my favorite series, Gotham City Sirens where she stars alongside Catwoman and Harley Quinn. However, it's that absence of not having her own series that have fans asking DC Comics for a Poison Ivy series.
Although it was not an ongoing, Ivy did recently have a six-issue miniseries titled Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death that was written by Amy Chu with illustrations by Clay Mann. However, DC Comics has yet to announce whether the miniseries will be turned into ongoing series or at the least given another miniseries.
Since this is a book blog, I thought it would be nice to point out a few comics for new fans who maybe interested in reading more about Poison Ivy. The first book Batman Arkham: Poison Ivy is a special collection celebrating Ivy's 50th anniversary, it also includes her first appearance in Batman #181. And the rest are a few of my favorites.
I do wish that she had her own series but until then here is a short list of stories that celebrate the awesomeness that is Poison Ivy.
