Starting today, I'm taking a 30-Day Healthy Snack Challenge. After weighing myself on Sunday and taking a real good look at myself, I can't deny that I've been snacking a bit too much. Chips, candy, ice cream, etc. I've been indulging way more than I should. I guess it's easy to develop a habit and I'm hoping by taking this challenge that it will help with limiting how many and what type of snacks I eat. Stress is also a factor when reaching for snacks but I will have to find another way to calm my nerves and exercise and meditation are two good options.
I've already been looking for healthy snack ideas and checking to see what options I have on the shelf and in the refrigerator (i.e. fruits and nuts) before I go out and buy more. And when the desire for ice cream strikes I am going to make sure I look at frozen yogurt options instead. I'm sure when this challenge is over I will probably go back to eating ice cream but maybe less of it.
No matter what choices I make, portion control is very important. I don't want to over do it with healthy snacks because that sort of defeats the purpose because I still would be overeating. Overall, I feel like snacking doesn't have to be boring or restrictive but I do want to make sure I'm picking healthier choices.
I don't plan on posting often for this challenge but I did want to let you know what I was going to do. I do think I will post a few pictures of healthy snacks I make or buy from time to time to keep myself motivated and on course.
