Update on my "To Be Read" Challenge

Back in May I made a decision to catch up on my extensive To Be Read list and the only way I could see doing that is by taking a break from reading Advance Reader Copy books. As of now, I've read 15 books on my list and I'm now on my 16th with Worst Case by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge which I'm almost finished reading. That still leaves a large number of books that I'm actually embarrassed to admit the actual number that I still have to read.

I can't believe I let my books grow to this point. I was so busy reading ARC books that I sort of let the books I bought pile up. However, since I started this challenge of reading my own books, I think it's making me appreciate the books that I have that much more. As I'm going through my books, I already put aside a few that I'm going to donate. It's been nice chipping away at my list and since I'm a relatively fast reader (when life doesn't get in the way) maybe I can see how many books I can have read by the end of the year.

I know there's this thing that we bookaholics do, we love to buy books but not all of us read all the books that we buy. And then we keep buying more books as we make promises that we will read them. Which we don't and the cycle continues. Well, I don't want to do that anymore, I want to read all of my books. It really is my fault that I let all these books pile up but I'm happy to say that I'm reading them now.
