Will the Latest Promotion Bring Back Teen Wolf Fans?

With only five episodes left of Teen Wolf, I wonder if MTV has been amping up promotion possibly in hopes of improving ratings which continue to drop despite a rather interesting plot. I'm really surprised by the ratings, I thought more fans would have returned for the finale episodes.

Perhaps yesterday's reveal and sneak peek that Jackson Whittemore (Colton Haynes) and Ethan Steiner (Charlie Carver) are in a relationship will spark some interest in the last few episodes. They will make their return in episode 6x17 (airing on Sept 10th).

So far, this bit of news has received mixed reviews from fans where some are happy with the announcement to others simply think it's a random couple and it doesn't make any sense that Jackson is dating his best friend Danny's ex-boyfriend. I don't have any problem with this couple even though I do want to know if Danny will be mentioned since he will not be returning to the series. I think it will be interesting to see more of their relationship and at least it looks like Jackson isn't the arrogant jerk he once was.

As for today's announcement, Entertainment Weekly released three exclusive pictures as well as promoting a farewell article focusing on the shows 100th episode which is also the last episode. The article will be featured in the upcoming issue of the magazine. I don't know if these new promos will bring back the fans and increase the ratings but all these sneak peeks and promo pictures have certainly made the show a little more buzz worthy.
