Book Review: Bandette vol #2

Book: Bandette volume #2: Stealers, Keepers! (issues #6-9) by Paul Tobin with illustrations by Colleen Coover

Edition: Hardcover

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

This second volume of Bandette is ridiculously good fun as the mischievous and daring thief Bandette goes up against her rival Monsieur in a unique challenge. All the while, trying to stay several steps ahead of Absinthe, the head of the criminal organization FINIS and his hired killer, Il Tredici a.k.a The Strangler.

Robin Hood would be so proud of Bandette, she not only has her own band of merry men or the Urchins as she likes to call them. But she also successfully steals from the crooks and kicks butt all with a charming wit. She even helps the grumpy Police Inspector B. D. Beligique from time to time taking down criminals despite the fact that she's sort of one herself.

There were quite a few surprises that I certainly wasn't expecting especially not with how she had managed to undermine Absinthe and bringing about his spectacular capture. But I also wasn't expecting Monsieur to have a plan of his own to help someone escape from Absinthe.

Volume #2 is a well-written, endearingly funny and exciting read that I was hoping wouldn't fall short of the first volume which was amazing. This didn't disappoint, I enjoyed reading every page of it and I love the artwork. This book also includes several short stories which were written by Paul Tobin with illustrations by various artists.

This was fun, I'm going to have the get the third volume as soon as possible.
