Favorite Fictional Bookworm: Patty Tolan

I like Patty Tolan, she's smart, outgoing, extremely well-read and very knowledgeable about so many things including the history of New York City. I don't think her intelligence was appreciated enough because although she may not be a scientist like the other members of the Ghostbusters, Patty's knowledge helped them out on many occasions.

She's also a total bookworm who has a big interest in reading nonfiction books. Prior to Patty becoming a Ghostbuster, she worked as an MTA worker and she would keep a stack of books in her booth to read whenever she took a break or it was a slow day at work. In the Ghostbusters novelization by Nancy Holder, it was mentioned that Patty had turned her booth into her private library and was reading the nonfiction book The Gangs of New York (which was written by Herbert Asbury).

I think Patty is a great character, not only is she fun and easygoing but also inquisitive and informative and not to mention a huge bookworm.
