Captain Marvel Soars at the Box Office Despite Some "Fans" Trying to Tank It

I am so happy for the success of Captain Marvel especially since there were quite a few fans who were going out of their way to try to make sure the movie bombed at the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, Captain Marvel made $153 million domestically while grossing $455 million globally this past weekend. That's fantastic to hear and despite this good news there are still fans who wished this movie had not done well.

I don't get some fans sick satisfaction in wanting to see a movie fail and with Captain Marvel doing amazingly well, I would like to think that they are realizing that they are not going to like everything and that they don't have to start a hate campaign to try to ruin it. But I don't see that happening anytime soon with some fans.

I really don't see the point of having a negative attitude about a movie? Entertainment is supposed to be fun but some fans are taking things much too seriously when it's a movie they don't like. I know as comic book fans (and fans in general) we can become passionate about things but I don't see the point of wasting so much time and energy trying to get a movie to fail. There is nothing wrong with voicing our opinions about a movie but it becomes a problem when someone takes it too far and try to get it to bomb at the box office.

That really doesn't seem like the best use of time especially when they could be talking about the movies they really are interested in seeing.
