Geek Chic Challenge: Make Time For The Things You Love

I love art but I've been so busy that I haven't had time to draw or paint. Last year, one of my goals was to go back to creating art. When I was a kid, I remember spending so many hours happily drawing, painting or doing some simple art projects. Although reading was and still is my number #1 interest, art is a close second. Which is why it's so weird that I some how over time completely let go of one of my favorite interests. I still love going to the museum to look at art exhibits, finding cool artwork online, buying art from artists and buying art of books. However, I stopped creating my own art.

One of the things I love about Clary Fray from the Shadowhunters TV series is that despite her life immediately changing once she stumbled into the world of the supernatural, she never abandoned her love of art. Prior to becoming a Shadowhunter, Clary had gotten accepted into the Brooklyn Academy of Art but even though she had to give up that dream, she still found time throughout the series to create some art.

I keep telling myself that whenever I find the time I'm going to create art again. However, since that has yet to happen, I'm going to challenge myself to make time for it. If I can find the time to do everything I have to do daily, I can certainly find a little time for art.

I truly feel inspired, I think I'll take my sketch book off the shelf and draw a little something today.
