I could see Derek doing something like this, especially since Stiles would probably be a little too enthusiastic about the holiday. Stiles most likely talked Derek into transforming into a wolf so that he could take a ridiculous picture of them wearing bunny ears. But the jokes on Stiles, because he won't be able to post it.
