Lois Lane and Superman may get a new TV Series on The CW

It's looks like good news for us Lois and Clark fans because there is a possibility the iconic duo will get a new TV series. According to reports, The CW is developing a series titled Superman and Lois Lane that will have Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch continuing their roles as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane.

The potential series will be executive produced and written by Todd Helbing, who was the former showrunner for The Flash TV series. Superman and Lois Lane will follow the iconic duo as they try to balance their busy lives while being parents. This should be interesting seeing Lois and Clark as parents. I know in the comics, Lois and Clark have been parents to their son Jonathan but as for live action there are only that I can recall. The first is in the final episode of the Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman TV series, where you see Lois and Clark being gifted a baby but from there it's up to fans' imaginations as to how they would be as parents. And in the movie Superman Returns, you see Lois Lane as a mother to her son Jason but her mothering skills were called into question by fans when she took her son on the yacht to investigate a possible lead which turned out to be a dangerous and terrible decision.

I do hope that if this show gets picked up, Superman will not get a team. This is something that's always annoyed me about the Arrowverse with nearly every superhero show having the heroes rely on a team. Superman (and to that extent Supergirl and The Flash) do not need a team to be a hero. The only hero on The CW I could see having a team is Green Arrow because in the comic books he worked with Black Canary, Speedy, Red Arrow and occasionally his son Connor Hawke. However, the Arrow TV series aside from working with Black Canary and Red Arrow mainly had Green Arrow working with random characters and having them become a team. I wish the show had followed the comics in regards to giving Green Arrow a team and not to mention avoiding a toxic relationship with Felicity Smoak.

Whatever direction they end up going with this show, I just hope the writer takes the time to create good stories for Lois and Clark. I will end this with a wonderful message Tyler Hoechlin posted on Instagram:

I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to tell this story, that for now shall remain a secret. But I’ve been blessed with nothing less than the most wonderful people to do it alongside of.
I couldn’t ask for a better partner than @BitsieTulloch in all of this. I’ve already learned so much from her and I know that won’t stop anytime soon. So thank you @gregberlanti and everyone else who brought her in as our Lois Lane. All the people behind the scenes care so much about these characters and their lives and the parts to which we’ll be speaking about, it gives me great comfort to know that they’ll steer us in the right direction. Thank you to everyone that said “yes” to this project (Warner Brothers, DC, CW). We won’t let you down. It’s going to be a grand adventure. Can’t wait to get to work!

P.S. I had no idea this picture existed when someone grabbed the shot of Bitsie and I on the monitor, and I just noticed today the resemblance of my expression to that of Mr. Reeves. Had to share. Hope we make something he would be proud of.

Up, up!

As for the pictures he is referring to, check out his post on Instagram to see them.
